Antique Provençal Sculptural Commode in Pine Wood, 19th century Denmark 1850s

A solid pine commode from the early 19th century. Built with a strong, honest construction and a generous scale. The deep drawers offer practical storage, while the proportions give it a calm presence in a room. The carved side elements flow into the front legs, adding a soft, organic movement to the piece.

The surface has developed a natural patina over time, especially on the top, where use has left quiet marks. It feels like a piece that could stand in a painter’s home. The back is made with care and shows the same attention as the front.

The handles were added later but fit well and allow easy use. The keyholes remain as a visual detail, with no locks.
