Danish Extendable Dining Table with leafs in Oak style of Henning Kjærnulf, 1960

This vintage mid-century oak dining room, or kitchen, table captures the essence of Henning Kjærnulf’s design philosophy, blending a bold brutalist aesthetic with refined danish craftsmanship. The intricate leg carvings harmonize beautifully with the table’s squared top shape, creating a piece that both has the nordic design look and is very functional. Its excellent vintage condition, smooth glide mechanism, and sturdy build are enhanced by a touch of charming patina, as seen in the photos. The legs are straight, and the wood is with no damage.

The surface of the table has been cleaned and degreased, and new clear oil has been put on so that the oak is light in appearance. If you are looking for a darker and deeper look, please see our other tables that have a deeper patina.

The table size is good and small, and with the addition of two extra fold-down leaves (each measuring 44cm or approximately 17.32 inches), the table can extend also with added leaves in the middle (each measuring 50cm or approximately 19.68 inches) to accommodate 6, 8, or even 12 people, making it ideal for dinner parties and larger gatherings. The clearance under the table for chairs is 63 cm (approximately 24.8 inches).
The top is made from veneer and is in beautiful condition.
