Rare Dated 1807 Solid Oak Farmhouse Baroque Table.

A remarkable piece of rural craftsmanship, this heavy and robust solid oak centre table carries with it more than two centuries of history. Dated 1807 (inscribed directly into the wood), it showcases timeless farmhouse simplicity combined with strong baroque-inspired forms, with clear echoes of the North Italian Provençal style.

The Tavern table stands on later-added baluster-shaped legs with soft, flowing curves, joined by a stretcher footrest for stability, and features a large single drawer. Crafted entirely from thick, untreated oak and joined with wooden dowels, it has developed a breathtaking natural patina that only centuries of use can create.

While the top is a later replacement—likely from the early 20th century—it blends seamlessly with the base, reflecting the practical tradition of repair and continued use in hardworking farmhouses of the past.

Its honest, natural presence and strong proportions make it a versatile piece: whether as a statement in an entrance hall, a striking display in a design shop, or as part of a warm, characterful home interior.

The tabletop is removable, allows for easy moving and access into home.
